Through a wide range of activities, we aim to raise awareness of our waters and the biodiversity they support. We highlight ecosystem functions and the connections between people and nature to create understanding and engagement. The project is driven by a commitment to create value for people, nature and society.

This is what Improve Aquatic LIFE does to raise awareness

School activities
Children and youth from schools in the project areas are invited to learn about the ecology of rivers, wetlands and coastal environments. Through outdoor education, students explore the importance of aquatic ecosystems and experience restoration in practice. We will also visit secondary schools in agriculture, forestry and land management. These students future landowners and managers – an important target group for increasing awareness about biodiversity and the role of aquatic ecosystems in a sustainable landscape.

Walks and talks and open forums
We organize meetings, guided walks and dialogues with landowners, local residents and organizations in the project area. The purpose is to inform about upcoming restoration measures and gather local knowledge.

Exhibitions and information material
Temporary exhibitions explaining the project goals and activities will be displayed at established visitor centers in the project areas. We will also produce information signs and roll-ups.

Website and social media
Our website is the hub for information about the project. It is available in both Swedish and English and is regularly updated with news, results and events. We are also present in social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Project films
We produce both thematic films on topics such as mussels, fish migration and wetlands, as well as a final film that summarizes the project’s results.
