Purpose
The purpose of monitoring is to know that the measures are having the desired effect and that the objectives we have set for the project are being achieved. By examining the situation before and after measures, analyses can be made to follow up the effects of the measures individually and within a larger area and from source to sea.

Objective
The objective is to monitor the biological and hydrological effects of the measures implemented under the project using various methods.

For improved connectivity and habitat, a large number of electrofishing surveys will be carried out and acoustic telemetry will be used to see the effects on the target species salmon and sea lamprey as well as other migratory fish species such as trout and eel will be investigated.
For improved hydrological regime, the effects of the measures will be investigated by using different types of measurement tools, logs and modeling of flows. This will allow us to monitor the water holding capacity of the landscape and how flows change, helping to reduce the risk of floods and droughts.
